I have decided I wanted to keep track, for my sake and who ever else is interested, of peanut's little journey into and in this world. For those who don't have a clue what I am talking about, I have nicked named my unborn child peanut. We don't know the sex and won't until he/she is born, so peanut it is.
Now I don't claim to be a writer, so if you are looking for great inspiring words or even grammatically correct posts, then I'll apologize ahead of time... You will probably not find it here. I simply want to keep a diary so that I do not forget all the wonderful memories through this journey.
I am already 21 weeks pregnant, which is a little over half way, and while I guess I could have started sooner, there's really not much to say about the first few months, other than ... I was miserably sick 80% of the time... So, it's quite alright with me not to have kept a log of that.
It's been a week since I've started feeling little peanut moving around in there. At first it was just like a little popping feeling... like I had popcorn in my stomach, it was hard to tell exactly what the feeling was or in what part of the belly the baby was. Well that's no longer the case; I am definitely feeling the bugger move around, jump up and down on my bladder... I can only assume that's what it is, because shortly after the party in there I have to rush to the ladies room. But I must say it is a lot of fun to finally FEEL my precious peanut.
I had an appointment with my midwife on Monday... Yes! I am having a midwife not a doctor, I will be having our baby at a birth center downtown, only 3 blocks away from a major hospital should any intervention be necessary. But anyway, I went to see her for my 20 week appointment, and everything looked great... She said I was measuring 2 weeks ahead of schedule, so the sonogram tomorrow will let us know if we need to change our due date. She also checked on the heartbeat... It took about 5 minutes to even be able to measure the heart rate, because peanut kept kicking and moving away from the little monitor, but after about 5 kicks we finally got a reading, it was beating at 148 bpm.
That's all I have today, we are having a sonogram done tomorrow to check on heart, lungs, bones, etc... Hopefully I will get a few pictures and I'll post them on here along with an update.
