Swim lessons
Last week Vaughn and I went to some "mommy and baby" swimming lessons. It was more of a "survival" rather than "fun" swimming class, yet it was still fun. It was all about teaching them how to swim to the edge of the pool (should they jump in the pool unassisted) learning to hold their breath, etc.
We had Daddy come and take some pictures of our last class.
The classes went something like this... We would begin by dunking them 5-10 times, always counting 1-2-3 so they would know when they were going in the water and giving them a few seconds rest in between. Then we would sit them at the edge of the pool, count again and drop them in the water, turning them to face the edge and letting go then guiding them to reach for the edge, we would do that a few times... then we would have them swim to the edge and pull themselves up, and we would also all stand in a circle and have the babies swim from mom to mom. That's, in a nutshell, what swim lessons were like.
Here we are with Donna and Tate before class
Here we are practicing dropping off the edge...
... and reaching for the edge.

Look at Vaughn swimming to me!

Vaughn did really good, the first few lessons he cried alot and as the week progressed he did better. Yesterday we went to a friends house to swim and we practiced all the things we learned and he did it all without crying.
